First Crawl
You figured out how to move yourself across the floor today, tummy still close to the ground, but absolutely determined to get where you wanted to go. The world just got a whole lot bigger for you.
Of all the things that could have inspired your first crawl, it was a nappy that did it. Not a toy, not a rattle, not something we had carefully placed in front of you during tummy time. A clean, unused nappy sitting just out of reach, and suddenly you wanted it more than anything in the world. Your little body figured out a way, arms pulling, legs pushing, tummy dragging along the floor, until you closed the gap between you and your target. We watched with this mix of laughter and awe and the sudden realisation that we needed to rethink every room in the house. You were so proud of yourself, even if you had no idea what you had just done. We were prouder still.
